TBS #9 Chandler Rangers (AZ) vs CBA Cyclones (AL)

 

The Chandler Rangers were fresh off a devastating loss to TBS#1 Voodoo 8-7 will face the CBA Cyclones. The Cyclones previously defeated the D’town Tigers 7-2 to advance.

 

The Rangers were the home team and would start Ryan Novis. Carson Griffis lead off the game with a single. An error allowed Saige Benson to reach first. With runners on first and third, Ethan Thomas singled home two runs for an early 2-0 lead.

 

Griffis would take the mound for the Cyclones in the bottom of the first. Tommy Martinez lead off with a single up the middle and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Tyler Watson to make the score 2-1 Cyclones.

 

Seth Richardson and Blake Wynn lead off the 2nd with back to back singles. The both scored on a wild pitch to give the Cyclones a 4-1 lead.

 

Carson Griffis (pic retired the Rangers 1-2-3 in the 2nd.

 

Griffis lead of the 3rd with a single off reliever Quincy Westbrook. Benson followed with a walk. Whitt Davis drove them both in with a triple to right center field. Davis then scored on a ground out by Thomas to make the score 7-1 Cyclones.

 

Another 1-2-3 for Griffis in the 3rd striking out 2.

 

The Cyclones finished their scoring in the fourth as they added 3 to give them a 10-1 lead. Richardson, Robbie Lively and Griffis all scored for the Cyclones.

 

The Rangers narrowed the gap to 10-2 with a double by Watson followed by a Novis single.

 

The Cyclones went quietly in the 5th.

 

Tommy Morren pitched a scoreless 5th inning striking out 1 to preserve the 10-2 win by the CBA Cyclones.
