MBA Pride Elite(FL) vs CBA Cyclones(AL)

 

In an elimination game, the MBA Pride Elite would take on the CBA Cyclones. Each team entered the game with a 2-1 bracket record with both teams losing to the TBS #20 SBA Canes (Triple Crown WS Champion).

 

Hayden Kingston took the mound for MBA. Saige Benson, Whitt Davis and Ethan Thomas had back to back to back singles, giving the Cyclones a 2-0 lead. Luke Hartman grounded out to 2nd to allow Thomas to score and make the score 3-0 after a half inning.

 

Blake Wynn was the starter for the Cyclones. The defense had some trouble allowing MBA to score 7 runs in the bottom half on 5 Cyclone errors. S.P. Perry, Francisco Toro, Michael Hall and Cameron Combs each had singles for MBA.

 

The Cyclones recaptured the lead in the top of the 2nd. Payton Young, Seth Richardson and Gates Ely each singled scored. Carson Griffis and Saige Benson also singled and scored to give the Cyclones an 8-7 lead.

 

Wynn pitched a scoreless 2nd to keep the 8-7 lead.

 

MBA brought in reliever Juan Valdez. The Cyclones were unable to score in the 3rd stranding Hartman and Young at first and second.

 

Tommy Morren (pictured left) enter the game in relief for the Cyclones in the 3rd. The first batter was retired via the swinging strike out. Hall then reached on an error. With a 3-2 count, and Hall going on the pitch, Combs goes down looking and Hall is retired on the throw by Wheeler Eastman to end the 3rd.

 

Benson and Davis walked with 2 outs in the 4th. They scored on a triple to right center by Thomas to extend the lead to 10-7.

 

Morren pitched another 1-2-3 inning for the Cyclones.

 

Morren then helped is cause by leading off with a single in the top of the 5th. Kelvin King then entered the game to pitch for MBA. Morren advanced to 3rd on a double by Richardson. Young hit a sacrifice fly to right field to make the score 11-7. Gates Ely was hit by a pitch to reach first. Eastman had an rbi single to right center to make it 12-7. Griffis singled to increase the score to 14-7. Benson grounded out to shortstop to allow Griffis to score and put the run rule in effect at 15-7.

 

Morren pitched a perfect 5th. Stiking out Austin Nickel to end the game.
