              12U Georgia Bandits 2011

22 teams have entered the Alabama SuperNIT with dreams of making the Elite 32 World Series field.  Four states will be represented.  10 teams from Alabama, 9 from Georgia, 1 from South Carolina and 1 from Florida.  The hands down favorite will be TBS #1 Georgia Bandits.  This will be their 6th SuperNIT tournament with them winning the last 4 in a row.  The Bandits are 45-0-1 this spring and 59-1-1 on the year.  TBS #5 Team Florida will be looking to break that winning streak and avenge a 4-3 loss in the finals of the Sandlot SuperNIT back in April.  It would be no surprise if they meet again in the finals. 

The top Alabama team in the field is the Valley Thunder.  They hope to avenge last week’s Triple Crown Atlanta Open Championship game loss to the Bandits. 

G-Force(AL) and the East Cobb Astros(GA) have been playing well as of late and hope to make a run at the title.  Lugnuts Baseball(AL) could sneak up on someone, as they have arguably the best 12U player in Alabama with Zavian Caldwell.  The Upstate Mavericks (SC) and Gulf Coast Lightning (FL) are no strangers to the big tournaments and have the talent to compete.

Alabama:  Montgomery Dirtbags, Vipers Baseball, Hoover Baseball, SC 280 Attack, Hunstville Baseball Club, Prattville Lions, AL Wizzard

Georgia:  Home Plate Chilidogs – Black, East Cobb Luck, GA Academy/TPX, Elite Gamers Red, Chain Gold, Team Dekalb Spartans, Duluth Wildcats

Only the top 16 advance to Sunday and with four wins needed for the championship, pitching will be a premium. The Bandits, Team Florida and East Cobb Astros have already qualified for the Elite 32.
