13U USSSA April Bash

Bama Ice from Millbrook, Al wins the 13U Major April Bash with a 6-0 record at Spain Park. The field of teams included 5 Alabama Major teams and 1 Mississippi Major team.

The Ice opened pool play with a 15-0 victory over th West Jefferson Jackers. Trever Kilcrease pitched the 3 inning shutout. Sean Rape, Wallace Henry and Brax Garrett pitched the Ice to victory with an 8-6 win over MS Heat in pool game #2. Pool game #3 was also victorious by virtue of an 18-4 win over the Hoover Bucs. Zachary Hahn, Ben Norris and Drake Cabe combined for the win. With the win, the Ice finished pool play at 3-0 earning the #1 seed.

The quarterfinal game was a rematch with the Hoover Bucs. The Ice prevailed 9-1 behind the pitching of Hahn and Cabe. Brax Garrett (pictured right) took the mound in the semifinals as the Ice took on the Alabama Playmakers. Garrett pitched 5 innings in the 7-4 win with Rape earning the save by pitching the 6^th.

The finals matched up the Ice with the MS Heat. The Heat reached the finals by defeating the West Jefferson Jackers 9-8 and the BL Outlaws 6-3. Garrett Busby, Cole Irby, Michael Simmons and Zachary James all pitched for the Ice.

The Bama Ice held on the win the championship over the MS Heat 9-6 behind the pitching of Kilcrease.
