11U Southeastern Elite Championship Game

Germantown Giants vs Viper Baseball Academy

Florence, Alabama - The Germantown Giants entered the championship game with a 5-0 tournament record.  In pool play they defeated the Trussville Diamond Dawgs and Alabama Bullets both 10-2.  In the quarter finals, the Giants defeated the Alabama Bounty Hunters 10-2.  In the Semi-Finals they defeated TPSA 5-3 behind the pitching of Andrew Peterson going 5 1/3 innings striking out 8 batters.

Viper Baseball Academy entered the championship game also with a perfecto 5-0 mark.  They defeated the Desoto Cardinals 5-2 and the Jackson Coyotes 7-5 in pool play.  In the quarter finals, VBA defeated Rocket City Rangers 16-1.  The semi-finals saw VBA defeat the Mississippi Seminoles 13-8.  Tyler Nunnelly was the winning pitcher.

The Championship game went the complete 6 innings with the Giants winning over Viper Baseball Academy 5-3.  Corey Wilson was the winning pitcher going 5 innings while allowing 2 runs on 3 hits with 2 strike outs.  His defense helped the cause with 2 double plays.  Barrone Porter came on to pitch the 6^th inning and record the save.  This was the 2^nd tournament win on the year for the Giants who are now 15-3.
